This new record from DC-via-Denmark musician Vaus is an intriguing one. It doesn’t hit you on the first, second, or even third listen, but if you give it time, it will hit you hard. There are nods to British mod, soul, and late ’60s psychedelia. It’s music that creates an image the same way that an old postcard does. The memories come flooding back and you wish you were standing there beneath that sunset again.
Lyn Vaus tells the stories well.

Just listened to a few tunes from these guys - good, dreamy alt-pop.
Their “Bleed Victoria” single is out now, and they’ll have a song on an upcoming Fierce Panda sampler.
Help She Can’t Swim were a band from ‘03 to ‘08 - although I feel like they disbanded longer ago than that. They had several releases, including two excellent albums.
I’m tired…but listen to neo-shoegazers The ABC Club. The Leeds band’s “Thieving Magpie” single will be out on Feb. 25th via Things to Make and Do.
